oh hai
The benefit of having an artist husband is that I’ve picked up tid bits of knowledge of a field I was never really interested in (though appreciate), such as painting techniques and art history. I never considered myself an artsy fartsy person, but people have told me I have an eye for it? Whatever that means.
Ever since I saw Georgia O’Keefe’s paintings up close in Chicago, I haven’t been able to get the image of the Cow Skull and Calico Roses out of my head. To me it shouts woman, solitariness, and the beauty of nature — a hardness and softness to it that I identify with. Next month I’m planning to tattoo this on my left thigh. Anyone that knows me knows I’m not much of a girly girl, so I find it interesting I love her ultra feminine work.
Was doing my usual online window shopping on Karmaloop and came across this new line called Civil. Instantly fell in love! Mix of goth, rock, and all things Los Angeles. Could see Kat Von D wearing some of this.

Picked up the LA Cheetah Sweatshirt thanks to a 20% off + free ship (promo code: TREAT) on Karmaloop.com. Check out www.civilclothing.com for their latest news and collections. Their men’s line is worth mentioning too.. great pieces!
Oh you know, just enjoying a cup of coffee and looking up 16-17th century medical illustrations (Vesalius!) and came across “20 Scary Old School Surgical Tools”. The Cervical Dilator looks fun.

The wind has been crazy lately. There’s something about the howling at night that’s just calming and somber. Wish I could shake this sadness like the wind shakes the leaves from the trees…
Christina Perri - Lonely
2 a.m., where do I begin?
Crying off my face again
The silent sounds of loneliness
Wants to follow me to bed
I’m a ghost of a girl that I want to be most
I’m the shell of a girl that I used to know well
Dancing slowly in an empty room
Can the lonely take the place of you?
I sing myself a quiet lullaby
Let you go and let the lonely in to take my heart again
Too afraid to go inside
For the pain of one more loveless night
But the loneliness will stay with me
And hold me ‘til I fall asleep
